A WOMAN’S PLACE…SECURE IN HEART
Last weeks’ article prompted me to take a deeper look at my own heart and the
insecurities that lie within. So, as I began to look at some of the scriptures that have
encouraged me over the years I thought I’d share them with you. One of the first scriptures I depended on
as a young Christian was Ps37. I can fret with the best of them and this passage really seemed to calm my
heart and bring me a sense of peace. It has also been a great help in reminding me to enjoy the journey as it
calls me to trust in the Lord and to delight myself in Him. Ps112 has also been a great help to me, especially
in my hour of fear. (By the way, in case you haven’t noticed, I’m following Delano’s lead in being open
with my many weaknesses!) This scripture has truly called me higher in the areas of personal righteousness,
trusting the Lord, and watching my life and my doctrine. As a child nothing could bring me more security
than my daddy. When I did something good I couldn’t wait to tell him and when I did something wrong I
always knew he’d be there to help me, discipline me, and make it right. That’s what Ps139 communicates
to me...all that a daddy should be. And He’s all ours.
Now that’s security!
Secure in Heart was one of the ideas for our upcoming Woman’s Day. Several of you are reading the book
and have been moved in such a way that we were inspired to make it our theme for this year. And if that’s
not enough, the author, Robin Weidner, will be our guest speaker. Again, I ask that you continue in prayer
until that day!
Please send any ideas to me at battle.tallchurch@comcast.net.
